"Missouri" leather

"Missouri": the living soul of our Italian leather

At Lewoodesign, we work with various types of leather, each with its own character. Today, we want to tell you about one of the most expressive – Italian vegetable-tanned leather, the "Missouri" type. It's not just a material; it's a story encapsulated in its texture.

We consciously choose leathers with minimal processing to preserve everything nature has created: natural wrinkles, scratch marks, and authentic relief. No masking coating – just pure leather that darkens, gains depth, and nobility over the years.

Look closely at "Missouri," and you'll see an entire landscape: "tiger" stripes, vein marks, a play of shades, and capricious graininess. Every inch is unique. That's why even within one model, we never create two identical products – the material dictates uniqueness.

Working with such leather is a dialogue. It introduces an element of unpredictability to the process, and we draw inspiration from it every day.

We believe that this philosophy will be appreciated by those who seek not only functionality but also character, history, and the trace of time in objects.

Where does "Missouri" leather come from?
It's European cowhide (a byproduct of the meat industry) that is tanned and gains character in one of the best Italian tanneries – Conceria La Perla Azzurra. Its lively texture is not a defect but a testament to an authentic history preserved in the material.

The classic palette of this type:
Warm "Camel," deep "Brown," noble "Whisky," and muted "Black." Thanks to its open surface, tactile contact with the leather becomes a unique experience – you feel its living texture and history.

"Missouri" is a choice for those who value authenticity. It is one of the key figures in our workshop, an embodiment of a philosophy where beauty is born from naturalness and time.

P.S. Our offer includes various types of leather – from smooth and even to raw and textured. If you want to learn more about other materials we use, write in the comments – we will prepare a separate overview!
